Thanksgiving Traditions
by Grace on November 17, 2011 in General, Inspiration Boards
Thanksgiving is a special holiday filled with family, friends, traditions and most importantly…Food! Set the Fall tone of your Thanksgiving dinner by sending PaperSnaps’ Roaring Twenties Wedding Invitation. Although it says “wedding invitation” the Fall yellow color and elegant design work perfectly for any Thanksgiving party. By personalizing the text from wedding copy to your personal Thanksgiving copy, this invitation instantly sets the mood for your dinner. No Thanksgiving dinner is complete without the perfect turkey. Your guests will feel as if they are dining at a five star restaurant when you serve this Martha Stewart Turkey recipe. The perfect table setting is just as important as preparing the perfect bird to eat on Thanksgiving. To carry your Fall theme through, use the same yellow as the invitations and Fall pumpkins and gourds for the decor. Adding beautiful Fall leaves from your own backyard to wrap votive candle holders adds elegance and a wonderful ambiance for your Thanksgiving table. Let each person know where to sit at the table with festive “I’m thankful for” place settings. For the younger crowd, line a table with brown paper and place a mason jar full of crayons at each seat. Write “What are you thankful for” on the brown paper and have the kids write down or draw pictures of things they are thankful for to help set the Thanksgiving mood at the kids table. For those of you with small children, a fun tradition to start is a Tradition Book. Each year have your children write down and draw what they are thankful for in your family book. It will be fun to see how their responses change throughout the years. Don’t send your guests home empty handed. Along with Thanksgiving leftovers, make sure to cure a sweet tooth with a cute Thanksgiving Sweet Treat Turkey! No matter how you celebrate Thanksgiving, if you surround yourself with those you are thankful for, you will have a fantastic Turkey day.

Running my way to the end
by Angie on November 16, 2011 in Baby, General
One thing that has really helped me throughout my pregnancy is that I’m still staying active and working out. I’ve always run and worked out, so I just kept it up and didn’t let my pregnancy stop me. Of course I have to be careful and had to change a few things in my workout for the safety of my baby. Instead of lifting weights and doing push-ups and sit-ups, I bought this great pregnancy workout dvd called, The Perfect Pregnancy Workout, and it really has been! I recommend this video to all women who are pregnant or even trying to get pregnant. The instructor is Karyne Steben, a world-class acrobat formerly with Cirque du Soleil. It focuses on strength training exercises using your own body weight. It also incorporates many moves that will benefit you before, during and after labor. I’m thinking of keeping it up even after the big day because I love the way I feel afterward and the results have been amazing. I have fallen in love with this dvd and make sure I do it atleast 3 times a week.
In addition to this great dvd, I have kept up running about 3 miles a day, 5-6 days a week. Of course I have had to decrease my speed and listen to my body when I get any aches, pains or shortness of breath (which is very rarely). Since I ran before I was pregnant it was perfectly okay for me to keep it up during my pregnancy. I have been running on a treadmill, because I just don’t quite trust myself outdoors. Pregnant women usually get a little off balance once their bellies get larger, and I have actually fallen three times just when I’m walking the dog. So you have to be extra careful about running outside if you choose to do so. Not to brag some more, but I also walk 2 miles a day thanks to my little dog Moe! I have been feeling great throughout my pregnancy (besides the sickness the first couple of months) but I ran through this and it definitely helped. I feel great everyday and give all the credit to my running, walking, and the amazing workout dvd. I never take naps or feel extra tired like so many pregnant women complain about, and I get so much done after work and on the weekends. I recommend every pregnant woman to stay as active as possible to get through your pregnancy. It has been my saving grace and has absolutely made this time fly by. I am now 34 weeks along and still feeling wonderful. I plan to keep up my running and workouts until the day I go into labor, God willing!
