Wedding Favors and Save the Dates!

We recently attended a wedding where the bride and groom had a very creative and original idea for wedding favors for all their guests. They hired a cartoon artist and gave each couple or family an opportunity to have their portraits sketched. The bride and groom tied in the favors with their save the date cards. When they mailed their cards out about 7 months ago the image they used was a cartoon sketch of themselves. Everyone at the reception could not stop talking about how fun it was!

Wedding Budget Tips: Use Postcards for Wedding Response Cards

Weddings can get really expensive.  By using these simple tips you can cut cost without cutting elegance or style from your wedding! Instead of sending the traditional reply card and envelope with your wedding invitation you can use postcards as your response card.  By using an all in one wedding invitation your guests will receive the postcard attached to your invitation.  All they have to do is simply detach the postcard from the invitation, pop it in the mail, and see you in a few short months to celebrate your wedding!  Postcards or the traditional response card and envelope must be pre-stamped.  Mailing a postcard is a fraction of the price of stamping and mailing an envelope, plus you don’t have the added cost of the envelope itself.  You also get additional space so you can include more information or a special message to all of your guests!

July Weddings its time to send out your Save the Dates!

If your wedding date is set for July 2011, consider this your six month warning!  Now is the time to make sure you mail your save the date cards or save the date magnets, especially if you are having an out of town wedding. Six months is about the perfect amount of time to make sure the guests on your list reserve your wedding date.  If you wait any longer you run the chance of your guests booking up their summer and missing your wedding day, major bummer!

Have your Save the Date and Eat it too!

My fiance and I were having a difficult time making a decision on the style and design of our wedding cake and groom’s cake. Our wedding planner had a great idea of taking the designs from our save the date magnet and our wedding invitation and incorporating them into the cakes. So we used the design on our save the date magnet for the groom’s cake and we used the invitation design for our wedding cake. We can’ t wait to see how they turned out!!
